“The increasing popularity of commercial movies showing three dimensional (3D) images has raised concern about possible adverse side effects on viewers.”

“Why Do 3-D Movies Make Some People Hurl?”

“Nothing can ruin a good movie faster than the sudden feeling that you’re about to throw up. But for many people, the images in 3-D or IMAX movies look so real that they mess up the brain’s ability to sort out the signals coming in from the senses, and trigger that queasy feeling.”

“If you found yourself feeling a little woozy while watching 3-D films like “Avatar” or “Tron,” you won’t be surprised to hear this.”

That must be why I find my self turning my head in 3D movies. My brain is already compensating for the lack of motion.

I have never felt any adverse effects watching 3D movies and I have watched a lot of them over the years. Many eye doctors in the 1950's said that watching 3D movies actually improves the eyesight. I believe them. My vision actually seems to strengthen after watching hours and hours of 3D. Not kidding. I think people need to strengthen their eye muscles. If that many people are having adverse side effects that's quite sad. Motion sickness? Please. Toughen up, people.

3-D movies give me headaches >_<  And the quality never even looks good to me.  So it's not even worth it.  I'd rather just watch a regular film so I can enjoy the story rather than have things "popping" out of the screen.

I watched a 3d movie last year only because the 2d version was sold out and that was the only day I had available to watch the movie while it was in theater. It ended up making me feel so bad (eye pain, nausea, headache) in the first couple of minutes that I had to watch the movie with the glasses off. It looked quite weird, but I was able to follow the story at least.
