When you're the person who literally holds someone's life in your hands, you DO NOT have the right to be human, and you DO NOT have the right to make a mistake.
For as much as those fucks are getting paid, "over worked" shouldn't even be in their vocabulary.

try being  a surg tech, or a Dr first before criticism. try counting 25 sponges, 30 suture needles and 3 trays of instruments all before the Dr. closes a cavity, then DO it again, when they close the skin. I'm not saying this doesn't happen because it does, unfortunately. just saying :)

I'm more terrified of that urban legend of people being awake during a surgery but paralyzed so they can't communicate they're awake. I think there was a bad horror movie about this topic I expressed too.

Rena Brown May 20, 2014 - 7:22 PM

NEVER should rush when they are doing surgery.

Jay Ritch February 11, 2016 - 1:36 PM

I never heard of anything so stupid, surgeons leaving instruments inside bodies. Is that what they taught them at medical school?

xMikazuki April 12, 2016 - 4:18 PM

What's next ?
Leaving a child inside? 😂👍🏼
Just imagine a man inside of him a child ( u got raped )

redlove108 May 8, 2016 - 3:36 AM

Is it so hard to count the number of tools you have BEFORE surgery and AFTER to make sure you didn't accidentally leave something behind? hmm?

With so many nurses and people helping with surgery you think one would be responsible for counting the tools…

Carmen Reymond July 28, 2016 - 8:51 AM

And yes its not only instruments that can be left back that needs to be accounted for but also ctton swabs and othe miscellaneous that are not necessarily counted, as the team doesn't know how much of that they will use. However i still think that a thorough check for items is mandatory each surgery.

John doe December 11, 2016 - 11:45 PM

This is why people should not get surgery, come at your own risk.

To be honest it is really stressful to work more than 60 hours/day. Sometimes, surgeons will have to stand up for more than hour doing surgery. I am not trying to justify this malpractice, but sometime patients better start being thankful and stop being so ungrateful. Just saying

Milosys Baptis January 24, 2018 - 4:32 PM

I wonder who investigates medical errors before the causes of death are labeled: Natural causes. BTW: IF a person dies during a surgery or after surgery it's often called Natural Causes !!

Kevin Reil May 15, 2018 - 2:21 PM

I have a phobia of this. I am glad we have surgeons saving and changing lives, however.

Kimberlee Roberts June 4, 2018 - 2:29 AM
