My mother has dementia. Took her on a day trip yesterday and when we got back home 10 minutes later she didn't remember going anywhere. Forgets where she is, wants to go live where she grew up as a little girl with her mom and dad even though the house has been gone for decades as have her parents. Generally she can take care of her self as long as she isn't given free roam. We put a gate up and I give her meds and food when she needs it. She cant live alone though. We tried that, set her alarms that told her what and when to take and despite that she took a weeks worth of meds in less than 2 days.

First for people with dementia, later obligatory for everyone. Small steps approach to get folks adjusted gradually… 🥴
