Top Victorian Govt. Secretary resigns over COVID-19 hotel quarantine inquiry | ABC News

The Secretary of the Department of Premier and Cabinet, Chris Eccles has stood down after handing his phone records to the hotel quarantine inquiry. He says he wants to avoid any distraction from the ongoing work of the Victorian public sector during the coronavirus pandemic.

Victoria has recorded 15 new cases of coronavirus and no new deaths, the state’s health department says.

The 14-day rolling average for Victoria is now slightly higher at 9.9, up from 9.3 yesterday.
