Let’s see… a few days ago I lifted my sons sheets only to find out I had bed bugs… and pretty bad. I took all my kids bedding and threw it away. I took rubbing alcohol and sprayed their bed frames and mattresses then threw them away. VACUUMED EVERYTHING over and over. I put DE along the walls where the carpet is and all under the furniture Then sprayed alcohol all over the carpets and furniture. I will spray 91% alcohol all over the carpet and furniture every two days just to be on the safe side

Humans can make whole species go extinct but can’t figure out how to kill off the bed bug species….😩

We just went through a bed bug infestation. I will tell you if you do not have a lot of money you can still fight of those buggers. You will have to cover all mattresses and pillows. I would suggest to spay them down with a Clorox and water mixture first. Cover completely with a zippered mattress cover that does not allow moisture through and tape up the zippered end. Also clean down the whole bed with the Clorox spray and all bedding wash in very hot water with Clorox. If you add the Clorox while the washer is filling into the drum with the soap and let it fill for a bit, your colors will not bleed. Wash all walls and dressers down with the Clorox mixture. Make sure the room is vented. Bag up all clothing to be washed in hot water and Clorox. Make sure the water temp gets over 120° when washing.
Keep this up. Stay in your room, unfortunately you are the bate. If the are in the walls, identify what wall and drill wholes and spray Clorox into the walls. Put double sided tape in the legs of the bed. Keep bed away from the wall and keep the least amount of blankets on the bed.
Wash bedding every day or at least dry on high heat for over an hour.
Do not cross contaminant clothing and bedding. Keep everything separate until you have them to where you don't see them any more.
But you are not done. You have to keep changing, cleaning, spraying, looking for over a year. If you have carpet, steam clean them with a Clorox mixture. When all is dried, you can lay out traps and diatomaceous earth.
But if you have the money and/or are not wanting to keep up this regimen than get a highly qualified bug exterminator who uses heat to kill the bugs.
Good luck.

Lived in los Angeles and never had bed bugs. Lived in Hollywood never had bed bugs. But I had a FAM member move in and she got bug infestation but it wasn't bed bugs. All the same it was scary and I had to treat it as bed bugs. I have slept on floor Japanese style on mat ever since. Changing out sheets and washing blankets. Its safer anyways. They say you dream better being closer to the earth. : )

HAVE 300 PROPERTIES AND DEAL WITH THEM 5 TO 10 TIMES A YEAR. TWICE AT MY HOME. I DO NOT CARE WHAT ANY EXTERMINATOR SAYS OR WHAT ANY DIY PERSON SAYS, I HAVE TRIES EVERYTHING OVER THE PAST TWO DECADES. ONLY ONE THING HAS EVER WORKED. ITS A PROCESS. VERY SIMILAR TO THE PROCESS USED IN CONTAMINATION PROCEDURES. A LIST OF ACTIONS TO TAKE IN A SPECIFIC ORDER, AND WHEN YOUR DONE…THEY'RE GONE. CUT ANY CORNERS AND THEY ARE NOT. I AM NOW 100% SUCCESSFUL IN EVERY ATTEMPT, EVEN WHEN SEVERAL APARTMENT UNITS WERE CONTAMINATED AND THE TENANTS WERE LESS THAN UP TO THE TASK. I ONLY USE TWO THINGS …1. FOOD GRADE DIATOMACEOUS EARTH, USED AS AN OUTLINE AROUND EVERY WALL AND DOOR CASING OF THE FLOOR PLAN, AROUND EVERY POST TOUCHING THE GROUND OF BED. ALSO PUT THE BED POSTS IN A BOWL OF WATER. AND THIS IS PHASE THREE. 2. ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL, ALWAYS USE IN WELL VENTILATED CONDITIONS, THAT IS OPEN WINDOWS AND FANS POINTING OUT. MY EXPERIENCE ALLOWS FOR ME TO JUST WEAR A RESPIRATOR AND OPEN THE WINDOWS. AND THIS IS PHASE TWO. AND PHASE ONE IS BAG ALL CLOTHES AND BEDDING IN DARK GARBAGE BAGS, AND SEAL BAGS COMPLETELY, THESE MUST GO TO A SELF SERVICE LAUNDROMAT FOR FULL WASH AND DRY. BE SURE TO FOLLOW CONTAMINATION PROCEDURES WITH THE CLOTHES AND THE BAGS.
PHASE TWO IS TO LOCATE THE COLONIES, USUALLY AT THE PLACE WHERE YOU SLEEP. MASK UP AND SPRAY FROM A NORMAL SPRAY BOTTLE ALCOHOL AROUND EVERY EDGE BOTH UP AND DOWN AND BOTH SIDES OF MATTRESS AND BOX SPRING MOVING THEM TO A STAND UP POSITION AT THE FOOT OF THE BED WHERE YOU HAVE PREPARED A PLACE LINED WITH PLASTIC DROP CLOTH FROM PAINT STORE. THEN SPRAY ENTIRE AREA UNDER BED AND AROUND NIGHT STANDS. BE GENEROUS…AND BE SURE TO BE WEARING A RESPIRATOR WITH OPEN WINDOWS OR OTHERWISE WELL VENTILATED. THEN MOVE NIGHT STANDS TO TREATED AND DROPPED AREA CLOSE TO ORIGINAL PLACE. SPRAY UNDER STANDS. NOW USE A SHOP VAC TO SUCK UP UNDER BED AND NIGHT STANDS FOCUSING ON CREVICES AT BASE BOARDS. RE TREAT THESE AREAS WITH ALCOHOL, AND RE SPRAY EACH EDGE OF BOX SPRING WHILE IN STANDING POSITION, USING SHOP VAC TO SUCK OUT COLONIES AS YOU GO. SPRAY ENTIRE AREA OF BOX SPRING AND LAY IT DOWN TO REPEAT ON THE TOP SIDE. DO THE SAME FOR MATTRESS ON BOTH SIDES AND BOTH EDGES OF BOTH SEAMS. LAY IT DOWN. NOW DUST MATTRESS WITH THE D-EARTH AND FLIP IT. DUST BOTTOM SIDE AND PUT ON A BUG BED COVER. THESE MUST BE THE RIGHT COVERS SPECIFIC FOR BED BUGS. DUST BOTH SIDES OF BOX SPRING AND COVER IT. BOX SPRING AND MATTRESS ARE NOW STANDING FOR THE SECOND TIME. DUST THE AREA UNDER BED, AND FOCUS ON CIRCLING BED POSTS THAT TOUCH THE GROUND, NOW PUT EACH BED POST INTO A BOWL OF WATER. DUST AGAINST BASE BOARD AND CHECK HEAD AND FOOD BOARD OF BED FOR AREAS TO SPRAY ALCOHOL AND SHOP VAC AS NEEDED. REPLACE BOX SPRING AND MATTRESS, KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN. ANY THAT YOU SEE GETS SPRAYED WITH ALCOHOL AND SUCKED UP WITH SHOP VAC. DO NOT VACUUM UP THE D-EARTH…LEAVE IT AS IS. INSPECT AND CLEAN NIGHT STANDS, ESPECIALLY DRAWERS AND RAILS, TREAT AND VACUUM AS NECESSARY. REPEAT IN EVERY ROOM WHERE SOMEONE SLEEPS. EVEN IF THEY HAVE NO BUGS THEN AT THE VERY LEAST PUT THE WATER BOWLS IN PLACE. ARM EVERY ONE WITH A SPRAY BOTTLE OF ALCOHOL AND FOR THE NEXT WEEK YOU ARE SPRAYING ANYTHING THAT DONT LOOK RIGHT. ALCOHOL KILLS ON CONTACT BY DRYING THEM OUT…AND D-EARTH CUTS THEM UP IN THEIR SOFT PARTS KILLING THEM.
FOR THE ENTIRE WEEK DO NOT LEAVE ROOM WITH SLEEP CLOTHES ON AND DO NOT ENTER ROOM WITH DAY CLOTHS ON. NO CROSS CONTAMINATION OF ANY KIND FROM ROOM TO ROOM. PUT NIGHT CLOTHES IN DRYER IN THE MORNING AND LAY ON BED. AND PUT THEM IN DRYER BEFORE BED.
AFTER ONE WEEK THEN VACUUM THE D-EARTH AND CLEAN UP ANY LEFTOVER MESSES. BUT REMAIN ARMED WITH THE SPRAY BOTTLES UNTIL YOU CAN REST EASY AGAIN. RARELY DO I HAVE TO MAKE A SECOND TREATMENT.
I CHARGE 1000$ TO RID HOMES OF BEDBUGS AS A SIDE BUSINESS TO WELL TO DO HOMES, AND I ADVERTISE DISCRETION. NEVER HAVE I HAD A CALL BACK.

I used a vacuum cleaner. When you fumigate bugs you spread them else where. They are not mentally challenged. They know what danger is so they run. With no danger present becomes the daily cleaning of all suspected hideouts. Suck them up into a vacuum bag and destroy. You don't stop till you see no more. Then you have to figure out away to keep from getting them from neighbors who do spray and chase them your way. 1st time I heard of BedBugs was when I lived on the east coast in Rhode Island. The Boardwalk hotels in New Jersey. Like 2005. Camera crews went in to the Trump named properties finding Hotels and Motels covered in Bedbugs. They where renting the rooms as low income subsidized apartments to anyone off the street. They where waking people up as they walked through the hotel rooms. 100's of bedbugs feeding on them. Next place I heard of Bedbugs was less than 3 months later in hotels in Florida also bearing the name as Trump properties. After that seemed to pop up every where.

DJKen August 28, 2019 - 7:44 AM

My tips are bag all clothing after you wash it sealed tight. Personal items bag and seal. Furniture or matress's that are stained to bad destroy. Remove everything from the home or apartment and clean everything. Keep cleaning until no sign of bedbugs has appeared for at least 4 weeks. Don't spray. They will move to the neighbors. When the neighbors spray they will move back. You won't kill that many bedbugs with spray unless you use an extremely unsafe level of toxin which will harm you as well…

DJKen August 28, 2019 - 7:48 AM

#1 way to get rid of bedbugs is don't feed them. They will starve to death if you don't feed them. They can feed each other. Vacation would have to be at least 4 months at some other location while they become canibals feeding off each other.

They are always in high numbers when your town has a lot of illegals, coincidentally not.
