The children of IS: 'It's a disaster we cannot deal with' – BBC News

by Moin Uddin Ahmed Tipu

Thousands of wives and children of the Islamic State group’s foreign fighters are currently being held in camps in Northern Syria.

The Kurdish authorities, which run the camps, are urging countries to repatriate their citizens – but many are refusing, because they see them as a security risk.

The BBC’s Poonam Taneja has been to one camp where people living there say they are suffering from violence from fellow inmates and family separations.

a ticking bomb

The least we can do for the heroic Kurds of Syria is to take our people off their hands; the camps are a huge drain on resources for Rojava, when they're under an economic embargo from nearly every side, partial occupation by Turkey, and the constant threat of further invasions and atrocities against them by Turkey. The lack of support for Rojava from Western countries, and especially European countries, and the UK specifically, has been utterly shameful.

I dont have sympathy for the mothers and fathers. Who I do feel sympathetic towards is the kids who didn't ask to be born into this. If only they can find a way out with help, than maybe we can slow the cycle of extremism, that is pushed upon. Maybe allah see they are innocent

No, at max the world should help the Kurds financially and should strengthen their resources, but please, we don't want this in our countries. Rather, all t@liban sympathizers should join them, but let us live in peace and democracy.

I somehow don't trust anyone who's lived under Isis. Feels like they'll one day turn on us.

Manazon October 13, 2021 - 11:26 PM

No, please keep them away. We are already suffering because of the Liberal immigration policy. They come to our country and criticise our values and democracy and freedoms, not realising they are alive because of them

Why can they not stay in Mecca houses? Anyways mecca is for all of them, right? So they can stay in the hands of their prophet and maybe are inspired to pursue non violence and secularism, give up extremism!

Alexander October 13, 2021 - 11:29 PM

I have a way to deal with them but the comment would be deleted

Each one is a potential time bomb, full of is lamic extremism and religious hate. Please, we want to live our lives as free emancipated citizens, not subjective to totalitarian religious laws. We can never bow down or mix.

One of the smartest things women can do, is to stay away from religious men. The first woman traveled over 6,000 miles from Trinidad to Syria because of her husband.
