SpaceX vs. China: The Quest for Satellite Internet | WSJ

by News Update

SpaceX has more than 1,000 satellites beaming high-speed internet to Earth, but China promises to offer higher speeds with the launch of what it calls the world’s first 6G satellite. Here’s how both are on a quest to build powerful internet networks in space. Photo illustration: Sharon Shi

Since China became the second-largest economy, the US likes to criticize all of China's policies and makes me start to wondering probably China actually did something right.

Why does WSJ always take China's word as gospel when they lie constantly about their capabilities and there's no reason to think they can actually achieve this.

When NSA spied on Merkel, did they get her permission? Or did they get permission from the German government?

People actually don't care about bandwidth as long as it's over 100 Mb's. The true test of Internet capability is internet "Latency".

And the lowest orbit will have the lowest latency. That is what is really being fought over. The position of the satellites relative to Earth. Not the capability of the satellite itself.

So China has already lost. If it is a versus.

Oh I get it. WsJ is shilling this new monopoly we taxpayers are funding. Once the government here is defunct, who will care? If you want dialtone or a home delivery or 911, it will all be going through this sieve. Every telecom can be replaced with this upgrade: destroy the feeds and media/network main offices and facilities and just supply the existing fiber and cable systems with a new head end. Look at the production quality here, these guys are producing consistent dialog with purpose as if they are media outlets themselves! They are. They will be covering all news once the head ends are gone.

SpaceX is just a proxy of the US space agency. They need stop putting junk into the orbit. These large quantity of low tech satellites they put in the sky are like road hazards that will puncture tires

Now Now June 22, 2021 - 9:56 AM

Why is it we can’t see any of these so called satellites? What happened to the space junk? Photos of said satellites….. nonexistent.

Two or three satellites provide the north American continent digital tv, radio, data, etc. But the have no CO 2 Lasers. BK.
Prolific ! As in too many for practical communications unless every international mode is destroyed at the head ends where the signal is sent from (soon a monopoly, a Global monopoly). Killing the communications of all enemies and then owning all communication is a key to winning a war. SDI Lasers are To intercept missiles with, most others are com links. Because the war they want to wage is going to bring the missles here AND Australia. Our AI is supposed to intecept every ICBM and intermediate range missile comming here with a phased array capability: the energy is additive in phase CO2 lased light. Every missile going to Australia is one not coming here. Look at the Aussi brand news on China hate and saber rattling. These psychos are marketing a war in Aussi media as if China will take the bait and escalate the threat value to Australia. Then they get more nukes. Every one is precious. If Australia has no PATRIOT batteries, then it is a no brainer for China: easy peasy Aussi barbi party al Carbon 238!
