It's common sense why Republicans aren't jumping on this bill. As McConnell said… "Do not give President Obama any win's, even if it's good for the American people. Make him a one-term President." The GOP is doing the same thing to President Biden and the Republican base is too gullible to grasps whats going on and if they do, they would rather bite their noses off to spite their faces.

The Republicans don't like the bill for the simple reason that it helps average Americans. Republicans really hate average/poor people. Give 'em the rich any day.

Why doesn’t any new people ask why corporations aren’t paying any taxes.?

I feel if they don't work together, we will destroy our Democracy. Thanks to Sinema and Manchin we have been held up by their stubborn attention getting moves, but if they hold true, we got this. The Bill is a winner for the middle-class.

I wonder who the Trumplicans will take it out on, last time it was Vet. This time it could be puppies or babies.

Jane Knight August 6, 2022 - 2:47 AM

The republicans don’t want the democrats to look good. The republicans would rather the country suffer than to have the democrats help the country..

Glad my state has Angus King, wish we could have voted Suzy Collins out last time.

Sadly, you won’t find many guys like this across the aisle. He’s told of a douchebag tweet by Lindsay Graham attacking the bill, and he says, “I’m not here to respond to that or to get into the politics of it. What’s important is what this bill does for ppl.” The other side would’ve started yelling about the Luciferian Cabal or Critical Race Theory or some other crazy shit.

The bill sucks. The measly 15% increase on those earning over a billion is going to be stripped because Sinema takes millions from corporate lobbyists! And it gives subsidies to fossil fuels industry, millions of federal land and water first before any renewables! A big corporate hand out to the fossil fuels industry! They don't talk about that!

Nobody cares what the parliamentarian thinks. she’s not an elected official. If the parliamentarian is an excuse for not passing a good bill again we need to petition that the office of the parliamentarian be absolved.

Republican Senators side with big business because they ARE big business. Many own, or have huge investments in, big business. When the leave government, many go on to work for, chair or lobby for these same companies. The puzzling thing is why so many of their "constituents" continue to elect them even if it's against their own interests. Perhaps their addiction to right wing media keeps them ignorant and fearful of big business.

Mike Ryan August 6, 2022 - 2:56 AM

What we want, is to stop giving all our COLA's to the big insurance companies. (campaign contributors) This has been a decades old policy.

i want to hear more about pulling the carried interest loophole. This whole tax scheme should have been thrown out years ago. Every president for years has pledged to get rid of it, even Trump. But the financial industry has congress in it's pocket, both parties, so we continue to allow these guys to pay a 20% maximum tax rate on millions of income. I am sick of it. This should be an issue in every election until it is written out of the tax code. Sinema and others who continue to do the bidding of these investors need to be voted out and replaced by people not in the corporate pocket.

Michael Hanley August 6, 2022 - 2:57 AM

This is not a good bill

Wayne Mccoy August 6, 2022 - 2:58 AM

Lindsay really lost his mind, caught by his own words ( the guys a kuku, )

Isn’t it great that the Democrats want to shake us down with 87,000 new IRS agents. Who doesn’t need audits on top of roaring inflation!? 🤦🏽‍♀️
