Disheartened to see her family was involved in this. Looks like a retread of the 1997 film but protracted into a series. Let's just say I'm less than impressed with the Quintanillas, and for good reason. Certainly they all love Selena and want to keep her legacy alive. But there's no denying they've sanitized the story. There's a much more gritty reality underneath that needs to be told and told well. Selena was human and her family was/is human. 25 years after her death, the truth should be revealed, warts and all.

Bruhh finally!! I've been waiting all year for this series 😊

I still wish Chris got his chance to tell his story of her. I mean, her as a wife is a completely different version to her as a sister and daughter. It's a whole story we still haven't really seen.

So when is this gonna stop? It's like her Father still can't let go of profiting off her. Sad.

Brooo… why does she look like Naya Rivera? I literally thought that was her.

Is it just me or is South Texas kinda tired of Selena? Like damn, let the girl rest Abraham.

  16. Avatar

Why ???? The movie made with Jennifer Lopez as Selena was beyond excellent. Why would there be another remake only to have different actors???

Wow, I almost thought it was Jlo playing Selena again. They look alike. Watching the trailer makes me feel like I've seen it all in the film already. They probably just added a few more scenes, a little more less important details just to stretch the series. But this just all reminding me of the film.

Can we all just appreciate the fact that Selena is still relevant almost 26 years after her death? People who never even heard of Selena will see this and hear her music. And her hairstyles in this trailer are ON POINT. She's not Selena's clone, but I think she looks like her.

Not really feeling this. And it's not for the costumes or the fact that Christian serratos looks nothing like her. But u can't really say too much now a days without ppl jumping all over u in the comments lol

She looks like a little girl playing dress up. Those are big shoes she’s filling and unfortunately it fell short for me.

The thing I like about this version is that they seem to be highlighting Selena’s career in the 80s while the 1997 film focused mainly on her career in the early 90s.

  25. Avatar

Jlo should have done the series

Hi. God loves you a lot 🤍
Jesus voluntarily limited Himself in the manifestation of His attributes to take the form of a servant and die on the cross for our sins.

Romans 5:8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
