Russia strikes supermarket, residential building in Ukraine's Mykolayiv

by News Update

Russian strikes destroyed a supermarket and ruined a residential building nearby in Mykolaiv, Ukraine on Wednesday, said Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Synkevych on Telegram.

Mykolaiv is a strategically important city that borders the mostly Russian-occupied Kherson region.

Resident Artem Shevchenko showed what was left of his parents’ apartment overlooking the supermarket across the street and said that he saw the explosions early in the morning from his country-side house.

Russia confirmed on Tuesday it had indeed carried out deadly strikes against Ukrainian forces in Ukraine’s southern Mykolaiv region and eastern Kharkiv region.
