Rugby World Cup: Scotland beaten by Japan as Wales stutter against Uruguay

Scotland are out of the Rugby World Cup after a stunning performance from hosts Japan saw them go through in a 28-21 victory in Yokohama. A superb first half saw Japan 21-7 up at the break but a resilient second half wasn’t enough for Scotland to level the scores. Elsewhere in Pool D Wales continued their 100% record in the competition albeit in stuttering style as they saw off Uruguay 35-13. There was also first win in the tournament for Tonga, they came from behind to beat United States 19-31 in Pool C
