Philippines: New Marcos film ‘whitewashes’ history, critics say

by News Update

A new film has been released about late Philippine leader Ferdinand Marcos Sr, who presided over widespread human rights abuses.
Marcos Sr amassed an estimated $5bn-$10bn of unexplained wealth, and was responsible for tens of thousands of wrongful imprisonments, torture and killings during his rule, according to human rights advocates.
His son is the current president.
Critics say the film is yet more “whitewashing” of history.

The current world situation is very fragile. People don't need war, they just need territory. People's opinions don't matter. These countries do not receive any education from the past. Proof that no country can be captured by force (Afghanistan Vietnam) first win the hearts of the people then organize a public vote under the supervision of the National Union and take the people's verdict whether the people will be with you. War is necessary to replace peace. Be at peace with yourself and let others be at peace

🇵🇭 PHILIPPINE 🤔

🎵 Music 🎶 has always been a crucial instrument for fostering community, healing and conjuring liberatory futures. In this piece, Madiba explores his love for music and how, during a night out at a concert, he regrettably missed seeing Tracy Chapman and the Manhattan Brothers performing.

Through this playlist, we explore the present past and the haunting events that continue to contribute to current struggles for FREEDOM.

We remember Mam’ Winnie and her sacrifices and feel our way through her pain, courage and temerity and draw inspiration from to continue to work for a society in which the constitution is a lived reality for all.

Let us give practical recognition to the injustices of the past, by building a future based on equality and social justice .”

Marcos is really the victim of black propaganda. First, the plunder accusation is a lie. For 20 years of Marcos rule from 1965 to 1986, the Philippine national debt was only 26 billion dollars. He cannot be stealing 10 billion dollars when the national debt was only 26 nillion doraCompare the 20 years of Marcos with the 20 years of his successors from 1986 to 2006. In 2006, the Philippine debt rose to 60.5 billion dollars. That's more than double than the 26 billion debt in Marcos rule. Noynoy Aquino borrowed 11 billion dollars in just 6 years of his administration which means if Noynoy Aquino, don of Cory Aquino will seat for 20 years, he will borrow 40 milllion dollars worse than the 26 billion of Marcos.

Reflections on the 🇨🇵 French Revolution

in some people, I see great liberty indeed; in many, if not in the most, an oppressive, degrading servitude .

But what is LIBERTY without WISDOM , and without virtue? It is the greatest of all possible evils; for it is folly, vice, and madness, without tuition or restraint .

Those who know what virtuous LIBERTY is, cannot bear to see it disgraced by incapable heads, on account of their having high-sounding words in their mouths .

🇯🇵 💭 HIROSHIMA 🗯️ 🤔

Today marks 77 years since the devastation suffered in Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. Every year, about 10 million “orizuru” origami cranes are donated to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park from around the world
and now earthhiroshima is harnessing these hopeful symbols for its Re:ORIZURU project. Each crane is taken apart, color coded, and dissolved to make "recycled orizuru paper" for stationary, etc. Exquisitely designed with local creators, these eco-friendly items are crafted to further the cranes’ enduring message of global peace .

You are a biased media out to create confusion and smear the reputation of the Philippines. I am a Filipino and when the Marcos was the President our country has develop.. After the so called revolution our country has drop to its lowest level and durgs and crimes and corruption have been rampant. We have voted for Marcos son as clearly the Filipinos were misinformed by the Aquino Admnistration. Marcos and Duterte are the best President our country have ever had. Now both of their son and daughter are running the country.
