Novak Djokovic’s visa cancelled by Australia for second time – BBC News

by Moin Uddin Ahmed Tipu

Novak Djokovic is set to be detained on Saturday after Australia cancelled his visa for a second time in a row over his right to remain in the country unvaccinated.

Australia’s immigration minister said the decision was made on “health and good order” grounds.

It means the men’s tennis number one, who is still scheduled to play in the Australian Open, faces deportation and a three-year visa ban.

Djokovic’s lawyers called the decision “patently irrational” and will appeal.

Mass hysteria after the stress of the last 2 years. Imagine the hysteria after the tough times lying ahead for the next at least 5 years economically

Has the vaxc had a 10 year trial like a normal vaccine ?

Marc Elias January 14, 2022 - 9:59 PM

Totally agree with the Aussie gov. He's a special tennis player, not a special tourist. His arrogance around this is a disgrace. Pretty sure he will make a meal of this, same way as he made meals of "injuries" in the middle of matches earlier on in his career

Djoković will remain best player of the "OPEN ERA" as this Australia Closed (Pfizer Open) tournament is the mark for the beggining of new "CLOSED ERA" of tennis.

This is now a question of narrative control. Is this a problem of the type "you are missing one piece of paper" or is it a problem of apartheid in Australia that tries not to let anyone break their DELTA OMICRON ( MEDIA CONTROL), in the age of free information 😅.  Media control is Sisyphus' job, a lot of energy and money is spent on technology, people, corruption, organization, and then someone tells the truth and breaks all the programming. Good luck with that.

glen reddy January 14, 2022 - 10:01 PM

Complete nonsense, you can carry covid, vaccinated or unvaccinated, the risk to anyone is no different from anyone vaccinated or unvaccinated, if the vaccine works, what’s the problem.
The facts are the vaccine doesn’t work.

Aywol January 14, 2022 - 10:01 PM

Djokovic is not welcome in Australia, nor is anyone else who isn't vaccinated.

Before he is deported, he must be sentenced to twelve months in prison for lying that he does not respect the law.

Charlie January 14, 2022 - 10:05 PM

Czech unvaccinated tennis player Renata Voracova (no. 81 in the ranking) was sent back on the same legal reasons but it‘s ok to make an exception him (no. 1 in the ranking) ? No! No one is above the law and these professionals have sufficient legal advisors to know exactly what the law outlines.
