Mom demands apology after police called to her sons’ lemonade stand in Montreal

by News Update

A Montreal mother is demanding an apology from police, after officers intervened at a street side lemonade stand operated by her two young sons.

The mother says the boys were periodically using a megaphone to attract customers, and one angry man angrily approached them.

“He said, ‘you little mother-effers. I’m going to shut you down.’ So I told him to get the hell off my property. And he said, ‘I’m calling the police,’” she claims.

Minutes later, she says police arrived and told her the stand must be shut down.

Yeah the megaphone was a really inappropriate tool and the officer(s) should be suspended for their mishandling of the situation.

Ditch the megaphone, and the attitude. 🤷‍♂️

bonjour la police

Brian Kroger August 1, 2022 - 9:34 PM

This mother is a fool. People have a right not to be disturbed by a megaphone in their homes. Use some common sense dumb dumb.

When you hire 18 yo quadruple jabbed thugs with nothing better to do…what do you expect? This is a communist country dummies

Megaphone is disruptive. The angry man has his reason to be upset, but the boys don't deserve the cops to tell them to shut down. Maybe just tell the boys to lower the volume of the megaphone?

She's complaining about what exactly? Obviously the megaphone was driving her neighbours crazy. Why is this "news".

bon bon August 1, 2022 - 9:39 PM

The Bloc is just another fascist racist con party. Cons love thier police state and misery.

Three hours later the police left. How much did this incident cost the tax payers? Secondly, the mother's demeanour during the interviewer with the media was defiant just imagine during the incident at hand. As those mentioned in the comment section, the megaphone was unnecessary and unwarranted. The mother should have taken that into consideration, apologized, take action in making sure that a megaphone wouldn't be used from then on end. Perhaps, request if the officer(s) talk to the children about it and carry on with the lemonade stand. You reside in a residential area. You want to make noise, get yourself a permit.

So this mom's attitude got her into an argument with a neighbour , that neighbour then called the police, she then argued with the police… and the next day is crying on TV about the ordeal. This woman seems very toxic and her children are going to grow up with similar attitudes. Now… where was the father in all this?

Social Ghost August 1, 2022 - 9:43 PM

She gave her kids a megaphone to yell in, in the middle of a residential neighborhood? …and with absolutely zero care as to how much it bothers the neighbors?

Plus I can already tell this woman has a serious attitude problem. She is not the victim here and the police did nothing wrong…..just another dumb Karen and her annoying kids!

Susanne Mayer August 1, 2022 - 9:50 PM

So the “kids” got carried away with their enthusiasm. All the neighbour had to do is ask them to stop using it. Everyone is flying off the handle too quick now a days. Chill people!

hello jaja August 1, 2022 - 9:50 PM

Maybe the guy that called the police should get a fine for wasting police time on non emergency?

Merakis100 August 1, 2022 - 9:56 PM

The RCMP stand for nothing any more. They protect trash from justice and it's as if they make up the law as they go without paying much attention to their duty.
They are the ones who more often unjustly put themselves above the law. There should be a fine for calling the cops for something so misdemeanor. He could have just used his manners and asked them nicely to put the megaphone in the house and stop using it. The RCMP officers that showed up should have done the same and then spoken to the man about utilizing their services to settle disputes with children. If it was found out that your organization had murdered hundreds of people, children and babies, what then do you think should happen to that organization?

Mitchell Baer August 1, 2022 - 9:57 PM

Well you definitely won't get an apology but you 100% made yourself a target for bullying and harassment from them for the rest of your life!

IB Aguilar August 1, 2022 - 9:57 PM

Just be respectful and don't make loud sounds. Freaking selfish people.

That’s what pan handlers should do. If it’s legal for everyone.

Chris Lim August 1, 2022 - 9:59 PM

Maybe Tim Hortons can teach kids how to give a free donut as a way of saying sorry?
Oh Canada…

NUMBER_SIX August 1, 2022 - 10:01 PM

Justin will have their accounts frozen. Can't have kids making money. Funny how the neighbours supported the kids. Guess it wasn't nearly as loud as the swearing man claimed. No need to swear at kids like a child. Probably if the man talked like an adult and asked to turn down the volume without swearing they would have compiled.

Shame on police

Joe A August 1, 2022 - 10:07 PM

Quebec police are the most ignorant I have ever seen . Told us to go back our our own province last time we were there. I told them where they could go too .

CANADIAN UKRANIAN August 1, 2022 - 10:11 PM

Ontario here.
LOOK no mega phones the kids here use signs it's common sense.
To the cops mediate and try to use your IQ for common sense to resolve the noise complaint.
And yes I would arrest or ticket a person in a wheelchair as I took care of such persons for 25 years.

Aaron Jackson August 1, 2022 - 10:13 PM

What the actual hell is going on??

Deborah cabot August 1, 2022 - 10:15 PM

What a waste of time and tax payers money, shame on the Montreal Police. If anything the megaphone should have been banned or taken away, problem solved.

Ryan Mcfadden August 1, 2022 - 10:16 PM

Police egoism is everywhere unfortunately

Rafael Negrete August 1, 2022 - 10:16 PM
