This stealthy, drug-resistant yeast can already be found in hospitals worldwide, preying on those with weakened immune systems. An often fatal fungus, C. auris is so prolific that the CDC recently added it to its list of urgent threats.

So what exactly is Candida Auris and how did it fly under the radar and emerge as a global health threat?

We sat down with Adrian Zelaznythe Head of the Microbiology Lab at the NIH (National Institute of Health) to discuss all the ins and outs of this stealthy superbug.

Watch to find out more.

"Superbug"… reminds me of YouTube's seeker's(pastly known as"Dnews") 2 & 3 video + thoughty2's videos about the "TARDIGRADE" as well as some videos I've watched about & talked with friends also about antibiotics not being effective vs bugs/viruses/bacteria..or at least bugs & bacteria, well maybe virus too – as they become immune to it and then we don't really have good weapons against them in the future – so antibiotics should be used as a last-case resource:

One thing that is quite sad but extremely important to note: One reason why candida auris is diagnosed so seldomly is that doctors tend to overlook fungal infections as they are quite hard to diagnose and some doctors will only test people for bacteria or viruses as they simply not think of fungi. There are people who might have candida auris overgrowth but no doctor is treating them as the medical community is quite devided when it comes to whether or not gut colonialization with candida albicans is good, bad or without significant impact. Keep in mind that you cannot take a stool sample and say whether or not somebody's gut is colonized with a certain microbe. There are lots of microbes sitting on your food, passing your body once you ate them (some of them are not capable of coping with your stomach acid, but others like salmonella or candida can.) Often, these microbes will form symbiotic bonds and organize in so called biofilms. They can impact each other. With people having a week immune system, only biopsies could bring clarity and these are seldomly done. First, the patient needs to get a viral infection promoting further growth of fungal pathogens leading to an invasive fungal infection. Then it may or may not be treated. There are people who have been tested positive for fungi in their blood (fungemia) but they had no fever and were completely asymptomatic. So there is yet a lot research to be done.

Came out of nowhere? Sounds man-made to me… Another weaponized disease to keep us locked just like covid19 imo..

jim orr May 14, 2020 - 7:37 AM

Notice while it's spelled Candida, they keep pronouncing it Canada. Are they trying to imply that Canada is making biowarfare on the rest of the world seeking world domination? 😉😁

Wtf

vinni kumar May 14, 2020 - 1:40 PM

Heard about first on the TV show The Resident. I thought it was a made up name before I googled it and found it was real

fraginz May 14, 2020 - 2:46 PM

covid19: can be destroyed by disinfectant
superbug bacteria: can be destroyed by disinfectant
Candida auris: nope.

AFAIK: The thing with fungus is that we need to make the fungus eat the poison that will kill them, we can't just destroy its 'shell' like virus or bacteria.

Timotius Victor May 14, 2020 - 3:07 PM

It's all bull shit designed to take over the world. Look how well Covid19 did.
The billionaires stole over 5 trillion dollars from the US alone.

Watta World May 16, 2020 - 11:50 PM

COVID 19 is a joke. Last year 80,000 people died from the flu, in the US alone.
and we didn't close down the country so the billionaires could steal 5 trillion dollars from us.

Aidan Best May 18, 2020 - 12:44 PM
