The argument that you should look 'out there' for objective truths is ludicrous. The Internet means that anyone can post anything and misrepresent anyone and anything. You have to take great care and cross-check and fact-check as much as is possible. There isn't an independent supervisory authority checking QAnon conspiracies in the way that there are regulations and consequences for misreporting news in magazines, newspapers and on cable news. The more far out and wacky it sounds, the more cautious you obviously have to be.
