Liverpool and Manchester United in talks to join 'European Premier League' with other top clubs

Exclusive: Liverpool and Manchester United are in talks about a bombshell plot involving Europe’s biggest football clubs to reshape the sport’s global landscape.

They want to join a new FIFA-backed tournament – and Sky News has learnt that financiers are assembling a £4.6bn funding package to assist the creation of what could become known as the European Premier League.

UEFA since stated that: “The UEFA President has made it clear on many occasions that UEFA strongly opposes a Super League. The principles of solidarity, of promotion, relegation and open leagues are non-negotiable.

“It is what makes European football work and the Champions League the best sports competition in the world.

“UEFA and the clubs are committed to build on such strength not to destroy it to create a super league of 10, 12, even 24 clubs, which would inevitably become boring.”

    Football is a joke
The best thing to ever happen to soccer was Leicester city winning the premier league 5000 1 underdog story.

A small city in the north of England called Leicester stuck 2 fingers up at the establishment and oil money

Man utd better concentrate on being a top 8 premier league club before they focus on anything else.

The Prem would be better off without them. A better spread of resources.

I usually think that boycotts are totally futile, but if this goes ahead, I imagine interest in professional football in the U.K. will collapse to the point that this new league will be totally reliant on foreign “fans”. Reducing the consequences of failure by creating a closed league also reduces the satisfaction of victory. This, and underdog stories, have been the lifeblood of English football since it began, and the Americans proposing this are incredibly naive if they think this will appeal to a European market. I’m a United fan, but I’d probably switch to non league or to no sport at all if this went through. I’m totally ashamed of the actions of my club over the last few weeks, and I’m sorry to fans of the other teams for the damage the Glazers and FSG are trying to do to the game.

To join the Super Afropean league, the Soccer teams will have to change their Club names. Liverpool FC will become the 'Sentimental Dodgers' and Manchester United FC will be renamed the 'Supercilious Onanists'

As it is Black History Month we should all remember how far the beautiful game has progressed into a Multibillion indebted enterprise since the game was invented in a small elephant clearing just north of Timbuktu in Niger in 1678.
