Lionesses captain on Euros win: ‘I think the tournament’s legacy was already made before the final’

Leah Williamson, captain of the England women’s football team, said during a victory parade on Monday that the “legacy of the tournament was already made before that final game”.

The Lionesses celebrated their 2-1 victory over Germany on Sunday with a party in London’s Trafalgar Square, which was attended by up to 7,000 fans.

Williamson also reflected on the team letting loose after their Euros win. “We’ve partied more than we’ve played football in the last 24 hours!”
