Lebanon and Israel talks resume over disputed maritime border

by News Update

Israel and Lebanon have resumed US-mediated talks aimed at ending a decades-long maritime border dispute in the eastern Mediterranean Sea. The indirect talks were called off weeks after they began in October.
The talks, between countries still technically at war, kicked off at the UN base in the town of Naqura in southern Lebanon, the National News Agency reported on Tuesday.
A deal would encourage international companies to invest, which would help Lebanon’s crippling debt, but the decision to engage in talks appears motivated by political considerations and manoeuvring, not just economics.

Al Jazeera’s Zeina Khodr reports from Beirut, Lebanon.

Really wonderful way … did not invest money in excavations and drilling and then in a partisan way to demand affiliation to the accumulations. Like Hezbollah, the Lebanese government is acting like a terrorist organization

1:20 Music to my ears : "The U.S. threatening sanctions on politicians with ties to Hezbollah"
Hezbollah are the barbarians sitting in Lebanon's Finance Ministry and refusing to move, as Lebanon goes down the pan.
