Kevin Clarke: 'Inappropriate' police restraint of man in mental health crisis contributed to death

Kevin Clarke was heard moaning in police body-worn camera footage while he was being handcuffed by the Met Police.

The way in which police restrained a paranoid schizophrenic ‘probably more than minimally’ contributed to his death in custody, an inquest jury has said.

Commander Bas Javid, said Mr Clarke’s death was “a tragedy and on behalf of the Metropolitan Police Service, I apologise for the failings as identified by the jury”.
