Kazakhstan violence “fuelled by leadership power struggle” – BBC News

by Moin Uddin Ahmed Tipu

The authorities in Kazakhstan say recent violence on the streets, which is said to have claimed dozens of lives, was “an organised attack” on the state.

They’ve blamed the unrest on “armed extremists” who they say were trained abroad.

However there’s growing evidence that a power struggle within Kazakhstan’s ruling elites fuelled the violence.

Clive Myrie presents BBC News at Ten reporting by Steve Rosenberg in Kazakhstan’s biggest city, Almaty.

On the days of protests, you had tons of Ukrainians and other EU nations showing their “support” on Kazakhstan sub Reddit. Obviously it was more about Russia to them than about the Kazakhs. In fact these europe accounts were encouraging more violence to subvert the Kazakh government and Russia.

Luckily the real Kazakhs on that sub called out these accounts knew they were trying to cause more instability.

It's gonna take some time, but a combination of decades of Authoritarian rule together with the end of the subsidies for the gas prices is my bet.
Foreign intervention also cannot be outright ruled out, it took some time for proof to be found that many of the pro EU groups were directly and indirectly funded by the West during the Euromaidan.
If nothing, Russia reaffirmed its position in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, wether it was supposed to bring an end to the regime or not, it ended up strengthening it.

If Americans governments can get away with lying to its people and promote attacks against its standing government. What stops less developed or weak democracies from following the path provided. The right wingnuts of the world seem to have allegiance. Trumpism and world disorder is a capitalistic revolt. The top rich hold the bottom labour hostage to make their fortunes while they just sit on fat asses. The exploitation of labour will kill democracy. The standing governments in weak and strong democracies do not want its people to stand against its autocratic control. The rich want to be richer at the expense of their livelihood of their countrymen.

Think about it people!!! Kazakhstan is HUGE and all over the country especially in Almaty “some people” attacked police stations, KNB headquarters, looted guns where they could find them all at same time??? You really think KZ authorities are that dumb that they didn’t act ? Or did someone from up top deliberately ignored the terrorists and let them into the country and more over paid them for it.

Nazarbayev had an army in the government who were just waiting for the old man to get ill or die so they could take the presidency and all the power, they couldn’t do it when he was alive/well as he personally elected Tokayev.

Tokayev is the real g, stood his ground, dismissed the whole cabinet filled with those corrupt animals and called in CSTO to say if you try to overthrow me and my command over our national army, the CSTO will sort you out.
Now he can rebuild a new Kazakhstan 🇰🇿
