Talking about gay rights detracts from more significant human rights issues. Human trafficking and slavery are more prominent than ever yet it doesn't get half the coverage of LGBTQ issues. The lgbt community is a fraction of the population and does not deserve this much coverage. I have never seen this much coverage about people starving to death or reparations or native Americans.

I'm 61 and a homosexual..Have I ever felt the sting of discrimination? Sure, but I didn't let it keep me down..I took it on the chin and have done and continue to do the best I can everyday to show everyone straight and gay I am a responsible contributing member of society and am as worthy of respect as anyone. In doing so I know I have changed the opinions of many over the yrs through the people I have worked with and others who have come to admire and respect me..I believe we get back what we put out which I would suggest the LGBTQ consider rather than encouraging everyone in earshot to continue being a victim..
