Home-share caregivers say they're burning out from lack of government support during pandemic

The B.C. Home Share Providers Association, which represents around 600 caregivers, says many workers aren’t being compensated for the additional work brought on by the longer hours and care related to the pandemic.

    As a sole caregiver for a nonagenarian with dementia for two years now, I’d just like to say grow a pair and embrace the weapons grade funk. Life’s hard and it gets harder. Deal with it.

    Try being a parent of a non verbal autistic child who's support has all walked away since march.. If schools didnt open my child would have nothing at all but me and her little sister. Mother walked away years ago. On odsp as well. All the government funding in the world does no good when there is no one willing to open up services

    While they spend billions on testing. This is just sad.

    They can sue for the money later. The problem is the long hours.
