Russian forces are closing in on the city of Lysychansk in the eastern Donbas region of Ukraine.
It’s the latest focus of Russia’s war effort, with their forces close to the edge of the city.
Around 8,000 civilians still remain there, out of a pre-war population of 100,000.
Many are reluctant to leave despite the terrible destruction and risk to their lives as Russian forces approach.
Huw Edwards presents a BBC News at Ten special report by Orla Guerin and Colm O’Molloy, who joined a group of volunteers helping remaining civilians to flee.

Russia is winning on all fronts, militarily, geopolitically, logistically, socially, economically, and financially. Russia is the only world power able to self-sustain independently from what happens in the rest of the world. Russia simply does not care any more what the West thinks, does, or threatens to do. It can now beat us at any of the three at any time.
