Djokovic fumes over 'hurricane conditions' as Thiem advances to French Open finals

Novak Djokovic’s 26-match grand slam winning streak ended after Dominic Thiem beat the world number one 6-2, 3-6, 7-5, 5-7, 7-5 in a wind-whipped and rain-interrupted match that spanned more than four hours over two days. Djokovic called conditions ‘one of the worst I have ever been part of’, but added that: ‘I don’t want to point out some reasons or find excuses for this loss … [Thiem] took it, he won it, and well done to him.’
Thiem will face 11-time French Open champion Rafael Nadal on Sunday in a rematch of last year’s final, which the Spaniard won. Beating Thiem again would allow Nadal to raise his grand slam total to 18 titles, moving him with two of Federer’s record for a man.

Novak Djokovic…always weeping, hostile, unpleasant and disgusting as usual.

What a disgrace to the game. Federer yesterday had much worse conditions but all he had was good words for Nadal

Strange world where you do not respect the Champ but wait for about anything that could be framed and used for negative news. Anway… Novak Djokovic is number one of the ATP list.

"here are excuses, but i don't want to make excuses. it's ok that i made excuses, because i stated that i don't want to make them." djoko's a good guy, but i learned from watching the nfl that you don't make excuses, no matter how true they may be. bottom line is the scoreboard. tennis players are prima donnas and they don't follow team sports closely, so they don't learn this. both players have to play in the same conditions. also wasn't the wind mostly the day before? was it still crazy windy for the decisive 5th set?

Both players had to play in the same tough conditions.

Joker is joker, if the same windy condition don't affect Thiem, then WTF is he complaining about.

Lol hurricane. Fedal didn't complaint. This just shows why he can never be Federer or Nadal.

djokovic was right actually .. That sort of conditions are not good for playing and in the first match it benefited one player .. Federer was one player who depends on technique and good serve .. That conditions were completely insane for him .. Where Nadal depends on brute force and power ..

It was a close match. Djoko has reason to excuse himself from the loss. That match could go either way.

Djokovic's psycological play to distract the opponent from the game did not work. Slamming the ball to the ground, scoffing at the umpire and blaming the weather, all did not help much.
On the other hand iron-willed Thiem had a superb game.
    Kudos to him.

No way can you want to win all year and never have wind or worse… Stick to indoors ? Can't remember Rafa speaking of weather after soldering won.. It was kinda dark and cold? I can't remember strong wind. But Raga just came back and look where his dedication has come to?! ONLY RAFA turns his camps up to, and then past 11!…
