Chile's new constitution: Seats for indigenous groups ahead of vote

Chileans head to the polls later this week to elect a group of people who will draft a new constitution.
11 percent of the seats at the Constitutional Convention are being reserved for leaders representing ten indigenous groups.
And there is hope this could be a crucial first step towards solving an increasingly explosive conflict.

I don't like people given seats on anything based on ethnic lines.
But if the oppression goes on or that recognition that they even exist never comes, then this is a good step
