California wildfires: Record number of hectares burned this year

In California, deadly wildfires have hit a new record of land burned.
New data reveals the California wildfires have destroyed more than 1.6 million hectares (4 million acres) of land, almost double the record for any previous year.
And the fires are still burning.

Al Jazeera’s Rob Reynolds reports from Los Angeles in the US state of California.

    We don't have hectares here in California. We have acres, square miles, square feet, pounds, gallons, miles, miles per hour, horsepower, watts, BTU, and the like. A system of units is part of the language of a people. When I go to another country I speak their language. You should do the same. Or stay home.
