Bugs, Bugs, Everywhere!

by Moin Uddin Ahmed Tipu

Bugs. Bugs. Bugs. Lots of bugs. Thats the conclusion a team of scientists from around the world came to after an eight year-long census of a section of a Panamanian jungle. SO many bugs in fact, they say if bugs wanted to take over the world, they could! Ok, thats might be something we made up, but the real numbers made us jump out of our skin. Trace has all the creepy crawly details.

DNews is a show about the science of everyday life. We post new videos three times a day, every weekday.

not true. if you used a computer immortality, then you can "colonize" other planets as all you need is electricity. it also makes interstellar travel possible.

what is the purpose of a fucking misquito? please tell me?

articulatebonehead April 4, 2014 - 6:30 PM

Insects are the single-most important organisms on this planet. Without them, damn near every lifeform above single-celled organisms would wither and die. They have a hand (segmented leg) in absolutely every biological process that makes this world "tick". I really wish people would acknowledge insects for their thankless yet irreplaceable role in propping up ALL life on this spinning rock in space…

Why are their bugs in berries, eyelashes, hair and dust? Especially dust that always weirded me out.
And yes, humans still unknowingly eat bugs inside berries and apples.

Troy Hayder November 14, 2021 - 10:53 PM

Middle of november is a weird time of year to have the air so thick with bugs your basically breathing them…
