Bodycam footage of police during Minneapolis protests – BBC News

by Moin Uddin Ahmed Tipu

“We’re hunting activists,” a US police officer jokes, adopting the voice of cartoon character Elmer Fudd.

It’s one of the scenes from newly released bodycam footage from the night of 30 May, 2020, as police patrolled Minneapolis five days after the murder of George Floyd, when the city was still under curfew.

While most of the protests were peaceful, there had also been violence, with a police station set alight two days earlier.

An internal police investigation is under way into the conduct of the officers. The BBC asked an activist who was involved in the protests against police brutality, as well as a former NYPD detective to analyse the footage.

Fox TV/Sky's Rupert Murdoch spent weekends hunting Aboriginals until the Death Penalty Abolition Act 1973 was passed.
1973 the year of Glam Rock was also the year hunting and killing Australian Aboriginals became illegal.

They left the department, which means they went to the next town over and got new jobs as police officers with no record of their misdeeds following them or being on their personnel records. They do that all day long here.. Once it starts to get hot, quit before you are fired or repremanded, the union will get you hired elsewhere, not uncommonly for more pay and start your misdeeds and criminality anew.

someone should file FOIA requests for bodycams of all the officers on duty during this time, take the time, and assemble a collection of clips with context to show what our hero's have been up to.
We already know, but seem to need video to trigger public indignation about it.

siyuan cheng October 13, 2021 - 7:25 AM

Guess what, maybe many protesters are marching with a mob mentality. But police are the authorized user of violence, so they have to be professional.

Nicholas Isaiah 53 Romans 10 October 13, 2021 - 7:29 AM

The book of Isaiah was written 700~ years before the Lord Jesus Christ was born.

(Isaiah 7:14)  Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

(Matthew 1:23)  Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

(Isaiah 9:6)  For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
(Isaiah 9:7)  Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

(Psalms 2:7)  I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

(Psalms 22:15)  My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.
(Psalms 22:16)  For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
(Psalms 22:17)  I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.
(Psalms 22:18)  They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.

(Zechariah 12:10)  And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

(Zechariah 13:6)  And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.

(Psalms 16:10)  For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

(John 1:1 KJV)  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
(John 1:2 KJV)  The same was in the beginning with God.
(John 1:3 KJV)  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
(John 1:4 KJV)  In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
(John 1:5 KJV)  And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

(John 1:14)  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

(John 3:16 KJV)  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

(John 6:47)  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

(Isaiah 52:13)  Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high.
(Isaiah 52:14)  As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:
(Isaiah 52:15)  So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.

(Isaiah 53:1)  Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
(Isaiah 53:2)  For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
(Isaiah 53:3)  He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
(Isaiah 53:4)  Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
(Isaiah 53:5)  But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
(Isaiah 53:6)  All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

(John 3:6)  That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
(John 3:7)  Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

(John 14:6)  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

(Romans 3:23)  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
(Romans 3:24)  Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
(Romans 3:25)  Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
(Romans 3:26)  To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

(Romans 6:23 KJV)  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

(1 Corinthians 15:1)  Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
(1 Corinthians 15:2)  By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
(1 Corinthians 15:3)  For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
(1 Corinthians 15:4)  And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

(Romans 10:8)  But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
(Romans 10:9)  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Not a real good look for the MPD but I’d be interested to know how much video they had to comb through to find these clips and how it compares to how much violence and abusive behavior was aimed at police. Not that any of this is justifies but context would make it more meaningful.
