I’d like to see the original studies cited here. Trace kept saying “bilingual,” but I think he was talking about having a degree of fluency in more than one language. Actual bilingualism is quite rare, even among polyglots, but many people have some degree of fluency in more than one language. Could someone add the citations please?

I once created "somfome", from Portuguese "sono" and "fome". It's to express your are hungry and need to sleep.

One of my hobbies is learning languages because I learn them very quickly. I speak Hebrew, Russian and English, while learning Arabic, German, Finnish and Esperanto, knowing many other words in other languages. Yay!😂

I grew up learning and speaking Urdu, learned Arabic during childhood, then began learning English upon arrival to America at 8, then learned French for four years in grade school, now going back to properly teaching myself Arabic, picking up some basic Farsi…and I want to learn Japanese too, before I die!

I mixed up two words to make a word that wern't even possible lol, I mixed up "filmar" (to sign in spanish) and "signer" (to sign in french) so when I said "Mom can you sign me this please" Instead of "filmar" I said "signar" LMAOO. I learned now that its "filmar" (because I speak spanish at home)

I can actually technically speak 6 languages: English, Hindi (हिन्दी), Gujurati (ગુજરાતી), Arabic (ال اربيا ةِ مُطاهِدا ال مّملاَكثِل), French (les Français), German (die Deutsh)

Am I normal? Is this too less? I'm scared that I know far too few languages.

My native language is Arabic, I have been learning and speaking English since kindergarten, I lived in Germany for 3-4 years and became pretty good in German and as my 4th language I speak French, but not as good as the other languages though.
