Archie Battersbee: Family 'deflated' by ruling

by News Update

The mother of Archie Battersbee says the family have been left “deflated” by a Court of Appeal decision to refuse to postpone the withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment from the 12-year-old.

Hollie Dance said she would fight the ruling and appeal to the Supreme Court.

Doctors say Archie’s brain stem is dead – treatment is due to be withdrawn on Tuesday at midday.

They have absolutely no idea what they're talking about.
Uneducated fools.
They say "He is still alive he has a heartbeat and he is trying to breathe."

That is exactly what life support is.
It artificially takes over the body's vital functions because the patient is a cabbage.

Stop wasting everyone's time and trying to tell professionals medical experts what is what and pull the plug!

Heart goes out to Archie and his family. This isn’t the first time court’s have done this. Going back some time to where it started. When court gave medical authorities the Power. So should we assume that if they had leaned to the side of the Parent, they may be overwhelmingly worried of the can of Worms that could open. This is Not America, we don’t put a specific time to the official pronouncement of death But that is what’s happening. Shame on our country.

His parentents wonot allow a brain stem test for the doc to prove if he is brain dead if the test proves he is not he would get more time his parents are stopping the test being performed which as a parent my self does not make sense

Guess it's time for the mum to start yet another crowd funding campaign for the free NHS treatment and pro-bono court costs. Like she does every time this story hits the news.

The Doctors cannot end a disabled patient life unless the parent of the patient consent to it.
Refusing to treat a disabled person is against the equality act 2010.
Stopping the parents seek UNs support due to the law that the court has broken is against human right act.
This is something that I believe court will reconsider.
