31 people drown crossing English Channel as inflatable dingy capsizes – BBC News

by Moin Uddin Ahmed Tipu

31 people, including five women and a little girl, died on Wednesday after their rubber boat capsized while they attempted the sea crossing from France to Britain.

It’s the worst disaster on record involving migrants in the English Channel.

Two people were saved from the water and four suspected people-smugglers have been arrested.

Huw Edwards presents BBC News at Ten reporting by Lucy Williamson in Calais and home editor Mark Easton.

The softer touch we are, the more will keep coming. Just a short period of turning the boats around and the problem would be solved.

This is on the French and those who encourage it. The French Police just stand there watching as boat loads leave their shore. Its disgusting. These people move right the way through mainland Europe to then sit on the French coast. They need to be stopped as soon as they enter Europe and sent back. The overwhelming majority are young men and given recent events one must be ultra vigilant because we are coming to a tipping point when it comes to the publics tolerance. Its time proper borders returned because this free for all is causing so much death and misery.

Macron is to blame for letting them cross, the only upside is that we,ll save a fortune on benefits, and boris the belter doesnt give a rats ass abt them as it affects his returns on jabbing them all..!!!

The real question should be is were are they getting the money from for the dinghy and outboard motor. As a dinghy the size there coming across in brand new Is a minimum of £2000 and even a cheap new 10 hp outboard is over £2000 so why is this question not being asked?

Terrible situation but the BBC showed its true colours this afternoon with the interviewing of the so called experts, all bar one left wing migration supporters, BBC isn't fit for use its just a mouthpiece for the left, again terrible news, just hope the smugglers get caught

Big Basil November 25, 2021 - 6:25 AM

What kind of f'ing idiot takes their kid for a ride across the English channel, across extremely busy shipping lanes in late november? I blame Boris for allowing these black market inflatable ferry services to continue on.

Marcus Manser November 25, 2021 - 6:26 AM
